About the role
As the Change Project Officer, you’ll play an active role in helping to deliver projects that improve how Audit Wales works and how we support the public sector in Wales. Working alongside experienced project and change managers, you’ll support a varied portfolio of initiatives and gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity to build your project and change management capability through doing, contributing to how projects are shaped, governed and delivered in a complex public sector organisation.
You’ll be involved in:
- Supporting project and change managers on live projects, helping to plan activities, track progress and keep delivery moving forward
- Working with colleagues across Audit Wales to gather information, follow up actions and support collaboration on change initiatives
- Helping to prepare clear and concise project updates, reports and presentations that support governance and decision‑making
- Assisting with stakeholder engagement and communication activity, ensuring information is well organised, timely and accessible
- Contributing ideas and insights that help improve how projects and change are delivered, learning from experience and feedback along the way.
You’ll also be part of a central change team that is shaping a consistent, people-centred approach to managing change across Audit Wales. Alongside your day-to-day role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your project and change management skills, learn new tools and methodologies and build confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders.
The role requires excellent organisational skills, great communication and the ability to work flexibly managing competing demands and deadlines. It is a broad and exciting role and no previous project or change management experience is required. Audit Wales is the independent public sector audit body within Wales. We hold a unique position within the Welsh public sector, where our role is to:
- Assure the people of Wales that public money is being managed well through our annual audit of public sector accounts.
- Explain how public money is being used and how it meets people’s needs through our Value for Money studies.
