At Audit Wales, we all share a belief that public money should be spent wisely, making the people of Wales’s lives the best they can be.
We offer a welcoming culture that supports work–life balance, strong training, and opportunities to grow your career. You’ll join a supportive team where collaboration helps everyone succeed, and the programme provides the skills and experiences you need to make an impact and develop professionally.
You’ll begin by supporting core financial audits, gradually taking on larger and more complex work as your skills and confidence grow. You'll help audit more than 800 public bodies across Wales, contributing to work that benefits the people of Wales.
Alongside studying for your accountancy qualification, you’ll build strong working relationships and receive full learning and development support.
Being able to work towards both the ACA and ILM qualifications and learn new skills while working is very rewarding.
Working on NHS audits alongside experienced staff, followed by an external secondment within the Welsh Ambulance Service, gave me a holistic understanding of health finance in Wales.
At Audit Wales, we gain invaluable experience across the public sector, working with fantastic people whilst receiving strong study support.
'Audit Wales is a genuinely supportive organisation where trainees are valued as an important part of the team. It has given me the opportunity to work towards my qualification while doing interesting and worthwhile work for the Welsh public sector.'
By joining our programme, you’ll be able to blend hands-on audit experience with training towards the ACA qualification and the ILM Level 3 leadership award. We’re committed to helping you build expertise and confidence with practical learning and professional support every step of the way. You’ll gain meaningful experience in both financial and performance audit, making a tangible difference to the people of Wales.
Your career as an auditor begins from day one. Alongside your professional training, you’ll work as part of our audit teams, gaining practical experience with clients – whether that’s at their offices, online from home, or from one of our own offices. We look for resourceful and resilient individuals who thrive on variety.
Our training programme offers exposure to a diverse range of clients, including Welsh Government and sponsored bodies, health boards, local authorities, and the Fire and Rescue Service.
