We looked at how Cardiff and Vale University Health Board’s approach to digital transformation is supporting service improvement. This included its approach to digital strategy, leadership, and skills development. We also considered how the organisation manages risks around digital infrastructure, cyber resilience, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Health Board has a clear digital ambition and recognises digital as a key enabler of service quality, safety and sustainability. However, there are areas where greater clarity is needed for some Members of the Board on how this ambition will be delivered. Despite this, the Board shows strong ownership of digital transformation and has put governance arrangements in place to highlight key digital risks and priorities.
