Healthcare Inspectorate Wales and the Wales Audit Office have recently completed high-level review work at Betsi Cadwaladr University health Board to examine the progress that has been made since the Health Board was placed into special measures in June 2015 by the Minister for Health and Social Services.
Our review work was undertaken in order for us to have an evidence base upon which we could draw when we met with the Welsh Government on 21 October to discuss the Health Board’s escalation status.
We have set out the findings from our joint review work in this letter to the Interim Chief Executive of the Health Board.
