NHS estates

  • What we're doing

This work is looking at how well NHS bodies manage their estate

    Why we're doing it

The NHS Estate in Wales provides the essential infrastructure to deliver healthcare services. It plays a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality care and enhancing the patient experience. However, the NHS Wales estate varies widely in age, condition, and location. Poorly maintained estate can pose health and safety risks, including fire safety issues and potential harm to patients. Outdated estate can also affect service performance, be less energy efficient as well as be a barrier to providing modern healthcare.

    When we'll report

    Autumn 2026.
