The study will focus on the Welsh Government’s overall management of the Economy Futures Fund, under which it has been providing a range of financial support to business. We will look at the Welsh Government’s strategic approach, its financial management, and at whether the Fund is achieving intended benefits.
We will also look at how the Welsh Government has learnt lessons from previous support for business schemes and at whether / how it has addressed issues raised in our 2018 report Welsh Government financial support for business.
Wales faces deep-rooted economic challenges. We will report on how well the Economy Futures Fund supports sustainable economic development aligned with national priorities and provide assurance on whether public money is being well spent.
