Not long until this year’s Finance for the Future conference!
To help delegates get excited to attend, we’ve spoken to some of the speakers joining us about what they’re looking forward to.
“I’m really looking forward to this year’s conference because it’s all about preparing for what lies ahead in the accountancy profession. What makes this event so special is that every aspect is seen through the lens of those towards the start of their careers - people studying towards a finance-related qualification. The conference provides a unique opportunity to explore the big issues shaping the sector, but also to develop the skills needed to thrive in a changing world. This isn’t just about today’s challenges; it’s about equipping the next generation of finance professionals for tomorrow, with every discussion and workshop tailored to the perspectives and ambitions of those entering the profession.
In particular, I’m looking forward to being part of the interactive workshop helping to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the way finance professionals work, from automating reports to detecting fraud and forecasting budgets. The session will take us into real-world scenarios and the ethical, practical, and professional challenges that arise. An opportunity to explore how AI will impact future careers – what skills we’ll all need, how to balance technology with human judgement, and why professional scepticism remains essential.”
Derwyn Owen, Executive Director of Audit Modernisation and Impact, Audit Wales
“I am really looking forward to this year’s Conference. I was a guest speaker two years ago and enjoyed it so much, I’ve agreed to come back for more! It was such a privilege to meet with like-minded (predominantly young!) professionals who were keen to learn, but equally so, invest and immerse themselves in this fabulous opportunity to share experiences and develop. Having had a quick peep at the list of fellow guest speakers, I’m looking forward to learning from others too – every day is a school day!”
Andy Adams, MBE MBA CIoL FCMI FRSA, Keep On Walking
“I'm very excited to be joining the finance for the future conference, and learning more about how the many challenges facing finance professionals can be overcome! Students also face many challenges when preparing for accountancy exams, and my presentation will explain how students can study in the most effective way to give themselves the best possible chance of passing the their exams, whilst maintaining a good work-life balance.”
David Evans, Director, HTFT
