Welcome to the NuroCove at Finance for the Future 2025

10 December 2025
  • We're getting ready for the Finance for the Future conference. We’ve asked Alex from Nurologik to tell us a bit more about how she’ll be supporting delegates at the conference.

    • We are really pleased to be bringing the NuroCove Quiet Space to this year’s Finance for the Future conference on 16 December at the Royal College of Music and Drama, Cardiff.

The NuroCove will be available throughout the day for any delegate who needs a calm, supported place to step away from the intensity of the event. While it’s designed primarily for people with social anxiety, neurodivergence, and sensory sensitivities, it is open to everyone.

      Why a NuroCove Matters

Conferences are full of energy, information and conversation, which is exciting, but can also be overwhelming. Noise levels, movement, lighting, social expectations and rapid transitions can place a lot of pressure on the nervous system, even when you’re enjoying the day.

The NuroCove offers a gentle alternative. Inside you’ll find:

      • low lighting
      • comfortable seating and rest areas
      • weighted and soft blankets
      • grounding sensory and fidget tools
      • ear defenders
      • calming activities
      • and a soothing, low-stimulus atmosphere

All NuroCove spaces are supervised by hosts trained in mental health first aid, safeguarding, and have in-depth understanding of the barriers faced by neurodivergent individuals.  Your NuroCove host will ensure the space stays welcoming, supportive and accessible. Whether you want to prepare before a session, decompress after speaking, or take a moment to settle between activities, the NuroCove is there for you.

      Communication stickers

Nurologik’s bilingual (Welsh/English) communication stickers will be available to help you indicate how you prefer to interact with others. These stickers support people who:

      • do not wish to or cannot speak,
      • prefer to speak only with familiar people,
      • would like to speak but find it difficult to initiate conversation, or
      • are happy to speak to anyone.

      The set includes:

      • Observing only
      • No strangers please
      • Please start a conversation
      • Happy to talk

These visual indicators can be really helpful for reducing social pressure, especially in busy or unfamiliar environments. They allow you to set gentle boundaries without needing to explain — something many neurodivergent and anxious attendees find incredibly reassuring.

      Who is the NuroCove for?

      Chair with blankets and cushions

The NuroCove is designed as an accessibility support, especially for people who are:

      • autistic, ADHD or otherwise neurodivergent
      • living with social anxiety
      • sensitive to noise, light or movement
      • managing sensory or cognitive overload

But you don’t need a diagnosis to use the space.

If you need a moment of quiet, a place to regulate, or simply a pause before rejoining the conference, you are very welcome.

Take a Moment That’s Just for You

Our aim is to make this conference more inclusive, comfortable and accessible for everyone who attends. We encourage you to visit the NuroCove at any point during the day — even a short break can make a huge difference to wellbeing, clarity and confidence.

We look forward to welcoming you into the NuroCove.
