Auditor General for Wales publishes his Annual Improvement Report 2013 on Wrexham County Borough Council

Between March and July 2013, Annual Improvement Reports will be published for all 28 local authorities, which includes local councils, national parks, and fire and rescue services in Wales. The reports look at how well the organisations are planning for improvement and delivering their services.

The Auditor General has also drawn on the work of other relevant Welsh inspectorates, Estyn, and the Care and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales; as well as work undertaken on behalf of the Wales Audit Office when preparing this report.

Continuing NHS Healthcare Framework delivers improvements but more progress needed

When someone is eligible for CHC the NHS funds the full package of health and social care, including any care home fees. For some people a decision that they are ineligible for CHC can have a significant financial impact - depending upon their income, savings and capital assets, they may be charged for any care provided by social services such as personal care and accommodation in a care home.
