While the first Wales Audit Office progress report concentrated on establishing equality objectives and setting up arrangements for collecting relevant information, this report focuses on how we have made a start in driving our equality work into our working policies and practices.

During her career Elinor has worked in key roles within a several public and third sector organisations, including the National Trust, the Countryside Council for Wales, Snowdonia National Park, the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Welsh Centre for International Affairs and Natural Resources Wales. She has also worked in a freelance capacity across diverse fields – from writing, editing and creative translation to developing and advising on heritage grant projects.

A Physicist by education, he developed a career in education and was secondary school Headteacher at Ysgol y Moelwyn, Blaenau Ffestiniog from where he moved to Further Education as Principal and Chief Executive of Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor.

Caerphilly Council car and leave allowances payments 'unlawful'

Caerphilly County Borough Council acted unlawfully when it paid its Chief Officers to 'buy out' their entitlements to an Essential Car User Allowance (ECUA) and Annual Leave Allowance (ALA). The Appointed Auditor, Anthony Barrett, has published a report today to draw the public's attention to a failure in governance arrangements at the Council and inadequacies in the processes it adopted in making these payments.
