Review of further education finances in progress

26 February 2016
  • The Auditor General for Wales has started a review of the Welsh Government’s oversight of further education finances.

The aim is to check whether the Welsh Government are confident that further education institutions in Wales are financially well placed to deliver the Welsh Government’s expectations.
The institutions have their own management and audit arrangements in place, but the study team will visit some of the colleges to discuss how they have adjusted to reductions in government funding.
The study is expected to be published in the autumn of 2016. Further information is available in our briefing paper [PDF 450KB Opens in new window].
