Cardiff and Vale University Health Board - Review of District Nursing Services

3 Jun 2015 - 4:35pm

The Health Board has a clear vision and good structures for district nursing with regular performance monitoring and reporting, although there is limited information on patient experience.

Work is ongoing to better match resources to demand although it is unclear whether staff are effectively deployed. The Auditor General for Wales carried out an all-Wales review of district nursing services of all health boards between March 2014 and August 2014. The review sought to answer the question: ‘Is the Health Board planning and utilising its district nursing resources effectively as part of its wider approach to delivering care in the community?’
