On the 19 October the Finance Skills Development Group held the second conference for finance trainees, Finance for the Future 2017
The event brought together individuals working in publicly funded organisations across Wales who are studying towards a finance related qualification.
This year’s event built on last year's highly successful conference in exploring the changes and challenges, which are likely to have an impact on finance professionals over the course of their careers, and were delivered by leading finance professionals in the field.

The Finance Skills Development Group comprises representatives from publicly funded bodies across Wales covering the following sectors:
- NHS Wales
- local government
- national parks
- police, fire and rescue
- Welsh government, Welsh Government sponsored bodies and other devolved central government bodies
- non-devolved central government bodies operating in Wales
- higher and further education sectors, and
- the Wales Audit Office.
