We are committed to the principle of introducing people to the world of work and recognise that this is an important part of education.
We aim to provide a positive, interesting and safe experience. We will consider requests from students who are still in secondary, further or higher education and from adults of all ages, however you must be in at least year 10 of school. All work experience is unpaid.
Making a request
If you are still at school you can request work experience with us by contacting Careers Wales [Opens in new window].
If you aren’t at school you can contact us direct by email or post. All requests should state the following:
- the time period you wish to work here
- why you want to undertake work experience, and
- what sort of work you are interested in, eg: Financial Audit, Performance Audit, Finance, Publishing, HR, ICT, Communications, or Business Services.
Send your request to:
Telephone: 029 2032 0543
Wales Audit Office

We welcome telephone calls in Welsh and English. You can also write to us in either Welsh or English and we will respond in the language you have used. Corresponding in Welsh will not lead to a delay.
On receipt of the request, we will speak with the relevant manager to see if it’s possible to offer you work experience during your requested period.
We will write to you once a decision has been made, and where relevant, make arrangements for you to start.
